Long time - No post

I haven't got a ligit reason for not posting. Or maybe I do... I'm a stay at home mom with no internet and a 3 month old. So yeah I have an excuse.

Nothing too terribly much is new except learning how to be a Mom which is incredibly new and wonderful and scary. I never know what to expect with Alec except general cuteness!

I wish I had more to post but sadly I don't... And my little man is calling for me. So toodle-loo!

Today I...

Today I...
Folded laundry
Washed dishes
Cooked
Dusted
Cleaned
Baked sugar cookies
Had a tea party
Put away stocking goodies
Cleaned some more
Read
Traced hands on paper and decorated them

Today I...
Hung out with T. Lynn
Kissed my handsome husband
Laughed at America's Funniest Home Videos
Saw my Pawpaw and Nana
Saw my in-laws
Sat on pillows on the floor
Cuddled
Slept in

Tomorrow I'll...
Go to church
Go to a Christmas Party (last one!)
See friends
See family
Finish last minute wrapping ;)
Finish the last bit of housework (yay)

Monday I'll...
Start housework all over again!

Oh Wednesday

Reading Red by Ted Dekker
Writing a letter to Amber
Washing Dishes (not fun but hey)
Going through the "homework" the birth center gave me
Painting my nails Pure Ice Splash blue
Wishing I could text Lys
Knowing I can't due to her shoots
Trying to convince myself that if I just get up and move I wont feel as tired
And losing the argument with myself
Pinning on Pinterest
Texting my dear husband
Smiling everytime I think of the baby
Having a good Wednesday

Happy day before Thanksgiving,

I Am Obsessed

I have many things I'm obsessed with. Photographs (particularly B&W, particularly Ansel Adams, particularly Richard Avedon, particularly Steven Vote). Baby Lips Peach Kiss lipstick. Shared Journals with Lys. Fall smells and colors. My wedding and engagement rings. The color yellow. Birds. Paper lanterns. Purple nail polish. Bico Australia Necklace Charms. Books. Knit tops. Grey flats. Maurices (which sells afore-mentioned knit tops and grey flats). Notebooks and pens (and pencils).

One of my many (many) obsessions is tea.

Thankfully my friend (and Lyssa's sister) Bee also has this obsession so we can talk about it all day long. As a wedding gift to Bee and her (now) husband, I went to this amazing store (which I've been in before but with my whole family so there wasn't much browsing time) called Teavana. Now Teavana is a tea lovers dream. It has every tea pot, every tea set, every tea thermos, every kind of tea you can imagine. It is amazing!!! I love love love going there. Any way... I got Bee (and her husband) a tea set and when I went to her house the night before her wedding we used it along with some amazing tea they got at Teavana (they are both tea lovers). It was great. I love tea and all and Bee got me this wonderful electric hot water kettle as a wedding gift to me, so I have instant hot tea the moment I want it, but fresh lose leaf tea is sooo much better.

Here are some of the teas I'm dying to try:

Samurai Chai Mate Tea: http://www.teavana.com/the-teas/mate-teas/p/samurai-chai-mate-tea

Strawberry Paraiso White Tea blended with Precious White Peach White Tea: http://www.teavana.com/the-teas/white-teas/p/strawberry-paraiso-white-tea
and http://www.teavana.com/the-teas/white-teas/p/precious-white-peach-white-tea

Copper Knot Hongcha Black Tea: http://www.teavana.com/the-teas/black-teas/p/copper-knot-hongcha-black-tea

And

Joie de Vivre Herbal Tea: http://www.teavana.com/the-teas/herbal-teas/p/joie-de-vivre-herbal-tea?cm_sp=Recos-_-BlendsWShow-_-<%=index

And don't even get me started on German Rock Sugar!! Oh my gosh. It is sooooo good. Of course regualr sugar is fine, but german rock tastes amazing!

Ok, I'm starting to drool and I need tea, so I'm going to go finish my stuff now and then go home and have a nice cup :)

In which I ramble

So I am weird and the things I love completely prove that... Let me go over a list!

I couldn't find a picture with just the mild jalapeno ones. But those are the ones I love. I never tried the other two, but I am seriously addicted to the mild jalapeno chedder ones! I'm drooling now!

Purple nail polish. I love blue for toes, but for finger nails purple all the way. Right now I'm wearing purple. It graduates from darker purple at the tips to lighter purple at the buttom (none of it is particularly light though). I am loving the purple :D

Color palettes! Don't know why, it's probably the blog-designing-soon-to-be-house-wife nerd in me, but I can't help it and I don't plan on stopping soon.

Paper lanterns! I am in love and obsessed. I have some hanging in my room now! Of course I also have two bows, many many arrows, a fishing pole, pratically a whole art studio, camera stuff and stacks and stacks of books in my room, so adding paper lanterns isn't odd at all... No, not at all.

Disney movies, particulary Tangled and Sleeping Beauty.

Love tv shows like Bones, NCIS, Numbers and Criminal Minds.

Ruffles - ok, yes I can be girly and yes it just killed me to admit on our blog to 30 readers that I like pink (or teal or blue) ruffles, but I do... So I figure being honest is best.

Lighting, light flares, slight over-exposure (when properly used), spherical abberation (aka bokeh), octogonal abberation (still bokeh) and such like. I adore them and feel a flutter in my stomach when I see it. One of the many reasons I love the new Star Trek movie. It's full of those and I am in lighting imperfection heaven.

Books - I love them, adore them, pour over them!!

That's it!

A sad sad sad sad sad day

I called Riah tonight to talk, since we haven't really talked that much in a while, and found that she wasn't there. Not really anyway. It was her voice I heard on the phone, but she said it wasn't her. Her exact words were these:
"This isn't your best friend Riah, this is her cloned version." or something to that effect - lol
"What do you mean 'her cloned version'" I asked.
"I mean that aliens have taken her and sent me, her clone, back in her place."
"But... will I ever see my real best friend Riah again?!"
"I don't know - she is on Mars somewhere."
*Sigh* "I guess I'll hafta deal with you then."
And so the conversation went on. Yes, this is a true story. We do things like this sometimes - don't be too worried. :)

Procrastination part deux

Here I am again, listening to Some Kind of Wonderful by Michael Buble on Pandora. Here I am again eating a sour cream donut and drinking coffee (feeling slighting police officer-ish). Here I am again procrastinating. I should be sewing skirts, working on my secret project, uploading music into my computer, cleaning my room, cleaning the main areas, cleaning the bathroom and blog designing. Oh and calling Lys and working on a Christmas wish list (per her request, be it only September). I should be writing my untitled novel, but instead I'm dreaming about this store. I should be cleaning up the extremely messy table beside me, but instead I'm thinking about being here:
Paris at night...

In this dress...

wearing these shoes...

these bracelets...

And this necklace (I love this necklace!!)...

and this hat...

and this purse! Yep, that's a complete ensemble.

And it costs -  $233.94 - yep, that's without the Paris part ;)

Yeah, sometimes I have expensive taste **blushes** I try not to though. And I'd never actually buy those things. It would be a ridiculous waste of money; money I don't have.

Much Love,
Riah

P.S. I started this post way earlier...
P.P.S. It would be preferable if somewhere Fred Astaire music was playing, but since Paris doesn't have a soundtrack, like movies do, I guess I'll have to live without it :(

Just a random post!

I am... Watching Monarch of the Glen with Momma, Kay and Bree.
I am... Eating a Cookies 'n' Cream Hershey's bar.
I am... Dying to have this journal or this one!
I have... Just finished reading Catching Fire and I can't quite decide my feelings on the matter.
I am... Going to buy an iPhone just to get this case!
I am... IMing with Lys, sending each other links about Aussie.
I am... Now wanting this mug!
I am... Thinking that maybe I'm a bit obsessed with Australia...
I am... Mad at my book. I know it's not it's fault I can't get anywhere, but its annoying!
I am... Eventually going to post about characters and bridal shoes and other fun stuff, but right now I'm too tired to think about it and I need pictures of the shoes anyway!

Goodnight!
Riah

Try not to...

Be anywhere near your Mom when she decides to caulk the kitchen. If you are near your Mom when she decides to caulk the kitchen then you may end up like me; laying on a kitchen counter cleaning excess caulk off of the tile and counter. Turns out I am very good at cleaning up excess caulk. Don't laugh Lyssa... I can hear you laughing - Mom don't laugh with her. Oh never mind.

So onto more business... I need to cut out and sew Lyssa's skirt together by Sunday. Yes THIS Sunday... Yes I am aware that I have one day to do that in, y'all aren't really telling me anything I don't already know. I bet you I know more then you do... I can prove it. It's a blue skirt with a white over skirt - so its almost like making two skirts in one day. Ha! Told you I knew more.
I'm also working on another -topic secret - project. Y'all will hear about it eventually.
I have about a million more books to read before I reach my "read 100 books in one year". Wow, y'all are back talking today. Yes, I know a million is more then a hundred. I am currently reading Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins, second book in the Hunger Games trilogy.

So now I am going to do something very Jocee-ish.

I want to be here...

...wearing this!

Yep, I want to be walking around in Australia, near the Sydney Opera house at sunset in this beautiful vintage lace dress! Blame Jocee for this idea... but it totally works.

I'm back

HI! I'm home. I got back yesterday. I got home, unpacked my things out of the car, took them upstairs (some of the books and a few other things still remain in my bag), talked to Mom and Grandma, searched wildly for my notebook which I found later in my bag, came back down stairs and talked some more then I just read, embroidered and watched Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest until I went to bed. In case any of you are wondering, the first Pirates movie is better than the second.
Today I got a slight bit frustrated. My wrist has been bothering me worse and worse lately. I guess it got a bit lazy not writing, typing or embroidering for several days, because I had a bit of a time yesterday trying to embroider and today I couldn't get the scissors to hold steady. I swear, if I had been alone on I might have started crying from sheer frustration. Ugh, please ignore my ranting. I'm just a bit upset right now since even now my hand is tired.

Before I go look at these:
These are my new flats! Way adorable, right?

Aren't these the cutest?
Please ignore the scars and scratches on my feet... I'm a bit hard on them.

I'm going to go get a small slice of thin crust pizza, ice tea and settle in with my book Cascade until I go to sleep.

Goodnight,
Ri

Remember me??

Hello my fellow bloggers...
Long time no talk!
I know it's been a while since I've posted but I have a good reason... I've been working from 7:45am to 5pm and then on some days going straight from the camp job to Lifeway to work until close. Its been a crazy 2 weeks adjusting to my schedule but I'm getting used to it enough to do this post. lol

I've been taking a good amount of pictures when I have some free time - I've missed taking pictures so much!

Riah and I are probably going to see Hillsong United in concert in a couple of months! We are super excited about it - can't wait!!

Well, I'm going to end this choppy post for now and get some sleep! G'night all!
With love and yawns,

A run down...

...of Lyssa's stay with us.

Friday:
We picked her up, ran a few errands brought her home. Then we settled in and then went to Beenies guitar lesson and afterwards went to get pretzels. Did various chores.

Saturday:
Just did stuff around the house and were pretty lazy. That night we went to my uncle's surprise party. Did various chores.

Sunday:
Church and relaxing afterward. Did various chores

Monday:
Wedding dress shopping. I tried some on at one place and just perused the other. Did various chores.

Tuesday:
Lyssa should have gone home during our milk run but she switched at work and was able to stay until Thursday!!! Milk run and then we cooked dinner when we came home. Did various chores.

Wednesday:
Got up and made biscuits, bacon and coffee for breakfast (yum), just had fun then when Beenie and Mom got back from her guitar lesson we went to the second bridal store and tried on some more dresses and Lys tried on a bridesmaid dress. Oh I told her that since the is the Maid of Honor and my only attendant that she could pick whatever dress she wanted as long as it was green (that way she'd like it and be able to afford it). And guess what?! She picked a really bridesmaid dress. It's beautiful by the way! She looked gorgeous! She's TALL AND SKINNY! Have I mentioned that?

Thursday:
**sob** we took her home. **sob sob sob** :(

I'm so used to her being here already. I miss her :( I'm used to our routine and everything.

I'm off to read, which is going to be lonely because we always express our opinions about characters or events loudly to each other! Ok, night...

May I just say....

THOR was AMAZINGLY AWESOME!! I will own this movie on the day it comes to DVD. It was that good. I am actually gonna go see it again on Thursday with my dad. Can't wait! And it helps that the guy who plays Thor is quite handsome (and Australian..) :) :) :) lol

Yes, you may call me a nerd - but only this once. I really can't help it right now. I even wore my Marvel comic t-shirt to the movie... yeah and Thor fruit snacks. Couldn't help it...
AND good night...

It came back to haunt me...

So... When Riah, Becky and Bree took me home last Tuesday there was something very funny that happened. Riah got a serious case of hiccups. I couldn't stop laughing. I was laughing so hard I was crying.
It came back to haunt me.
I have hiccups. Right now.
They won't stop.
I told Ri...
She is laughing.
Help.

May already?!

WOW! Time flies! Wasn't it just Christmas??
I'm having a hard time believing that I have just a month until my Summer Camp job starts. That means I've gotta go shopping for some clothes. Ugh. I'm am so shopped out. And I've only been twice in the last two weeks! Well...that's not saying much - I never shop. Ever. So I guess it makes sense that I'm shopped out.
Ok. I'm rambling now. Moving on.
Before camp starts I need:
1. Socks
2. More jeans
3. Light weight t-shirts
4. Hair ties
5. And a giant water bottle! (and I do mean giant) (Last year I had one that was about a gallon and I drank most of it in one day. Hey - being outside in the sun all day will do it to ya!)

New Topic:

I NEED TO GO ON A TRIP!! Yes, Riah, I would love to come to your house again, but I'm talking about a trip that requires you to fly across the ocean. To Australia... England... Ireland.... Scotland... Yep - that's it - I'm going. As soon as I can. **Deep Sigh**
Signing off for now - need to go stop off at my work to discus my Summer schedule with my boss. :)

Love,

I promise

that I will eventually get around to posting pictures of my room. I can't this weekend, or at least I don't think I can. Tomorrow I'm running errends with Momma and going with Beenie to her guitar lessons (I love going with her to her lessons, I love hearing guitar playing and trying to make sense of what her tutor is telling her - which she understands, of course). I believe my fiancé (I have the hardest time with the whole "fiancé" thing... a woman who is engaged is a "fiancée", a guy who is engaged is a "fiancé" - ugh french is soooo hard, half the time I put the accent over the wrong e or use the wrong spelling) is coming over both Saturday and Sunday, so I most likely wont be getting on the computer much. Perhaps next week, although I'll be trying to finish up three blog designs then.

Now onto something random that has nothing to do with this post. Here are some of the pictures I took with Lyssa's Nikon D90 while she was over here (isn't she so sweet letting me use her beloved camera? Yeah, I thought so too).

this and the above photo are the same - just edited differently

This is a favorite, I love the clarity and sharpness, but I like the dandy lion photo for the same reasons.

Things I blame Lyssa for!

I blame Lys for a lot of stuff, here is a list.

I blame Lyssa for:

Making me like Hillsong (Chapel, United, everything).

Introducing me to SoBe Lifewater, I love that drink.

Making me text her, so now I don't completely hate text (grrr, I lost something to rant about).

Giving me a Tamera Alexander book to read.

Taking me to Starbucks (ok, that was partially Bee's fault).

Loaning me a Ted Dekker book.

AND LAST, BUT NOT LEAST!

Introducing me to hot chocolate with hazelnut creamer - not fair!

So that is a list of stuff I blame her for, there is more... but I felt like keeping it shorter. Perhaps I'll do another of these one day (be prepared Lys).

Love,
Ariah
