My first video

Or three :) So I decided to do a video about the wedding stuff rather than take a billon pictures of everything. I still have pictures I'll show ya, but I thought this might be a more entertaining way of showing you. My first video was horrible because I didn't have a clue what everything was... You'll see :)Anyway, I'll be posting one a day... So have fun :)
Epic fail, right? Well more videos comin' soon :)

Procrastination part deux

Here I am again, listening to Some Kind of Wonderful by Michael Buble on Pandora. Here I am again eating a sour cream donut and drinking coffee (feeling slighting police officer-ish). Here I am again procrastinating. I should be sewing skirts, working on my secret project, uploading music into my computer, cleaning my room, cleaning the main areas, cleaning the bathroom and blog designing. Oh and calling Lys and working on a Christmas wish list (per her request, be it only September). I should be writing my untitled novel, but instead I'm dreaming about this store. I should be cleaning up the extremely messy table beside me, but instead I'm thinking about being here:
Paris at night...

In this dress...

wearing these shoes...

these bracelets...

And this necklace (I love this necklace!!)...

and this hat...

and this purse! Yep, that's a complete ensemble.

And it costs -  $233.94 - yep, that's without the Paris part ;)

Yeah, sometimes I have expensive taste **blushes** I try not to though. And I'd never actually buy those things. It would be a ridiculous waste of money; money I don't have.

Much Love,
Riah

P.S. I started this post way earlier...
P.P.S. It would be preferable if somewhere Fred Astaire music was playing, but since Paris doesn't have a soundtrack, like movies do, I guess I'll have to live without it :(

I'm back

HI! I'm home. I got back yesterday. I got home, unpacked my things out of the car, took them upstairs (some of the books and a few other things still remain in my bag), talked to Mom and Grandma, searched wildly for my notebook which I found later in my bag, came back down stairs and talked some more then I just read, embroidered and watched Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest until I went to bed. In case any of you are wondering, the first Pirates movie is better than the second.
Today I got a slight bit frustrated. My wrist has been bothering me worse and worse lately. I guess it got a bit lazy not writing, typing or embroidering for several days, because I had a bit of a time yesterday trying to embroider and today I couldn't get the scissors to hold steady. I swear, if I had been alone on I might have started crying from sheer frustration. Ugh, please ignore my ranting. I'm just a bit upset right now since even now my hand is tired.

Before I go look at these:
These are my new flats! Way adorable, right?

Aren't these the cutest?
Please ignore the scars and scratches on my feet... I'm a bit hard on them.

I'm going to go get a small slice of thin crust pizza, ice tea and settle in with my book Cascade until I go to sleep.

Goodnight,
Ri

We have a monster in our house

note: hopefully my next post will have the promised pictures. I just need to take the photos.

We have a monkey pj (pajama) monster in our house. This monster is little, very little in fact. This monster is blond and freckled. This monster is a little, blond, freckled girl who just happens to go by T. Lynn and is known as my littlest sister.

Now you may be wondering why I call her a monster, particularly a pj monster. Well it's simple. She LOVES pj's. Adores them in fact. You know that statistic that says that being in your pj's late into the day makes you sluggish and depressed? She is the opposite. If she isn't in her pj's late into the day she is depressed! She begs to stay in them and in the early evening she begs to get back in them.

I'm sure your next question is "what about the monkeys?" Your answer is her favorite pair of pj's are a green pair with little monkeys all over it. Her newest fascination is monkeys. If it isn't a monkey, frog or bug she probably isn't happy.

What made me post about our female, blond, freckled, monkey pj's monster, you ask? Well this little monster came in the room while Mom and I were looking at fabric for her flower girl dress. We would pull one up and we'd ask her if she liked it and she'd reply "does it have monkeys? no? then I don't like it". We had to tell her that she was not allowed to wear monkeys to the wedding. Guess what she did?! She blackmailed me! She said she wouldn't be my flower girl if she didn't get to wear monkeys. I came up with the idea to look for a monkey pin to wear on her flower girl dress, but Mom and I didn't really like the ones they had. We looked for charms, necklaces, bracelets and rings. We couldn't find anything we liked. So we started looking for a small stuffed animal she could hold in her basket. We ended up with this:
Yep, this is what T. Lynn is going to have in her flower girl basket along with whatever type of petal we have her scatter. It's sad that I had to bribe my sister to be my flower girl. She is against the wedding anyway, so I guess I shouldn't be too surprised :)
You know what? After we let her pick a monkey to carry she told us she did like one of the fabrics? She is such a little twerp!

Your tired (its 12:33am) and amused,
Riah Friah

May I just say....

THOR was AMAZINGLY AWESOME!! I will own this movie on the day it comes to DVD. It was that good. I am actually gonna go see it again on Thursday with my dad. Can't wait! And it helps that the guy who plays Thor is quite handsome (and Australian..) :) :) :) lol

Yes, you may call me a nerd - but only this once. I really can't help it right now. I even wore my Marvel comic t-shirt to the movie... yeah and Thor fruit snacks. Couldn't help it...
AND good night...

Happy Mothers Day!

Happy Mom's day to all you moms. :)
I saw a card today that I may or may not have gotten for my mom. lol. It said something like:
"If I had a penny for every time you picked up a dirty sock, cooked a meal, and drove me somewhere.... for Mothers Day you would have gotten an all expense paid, 6-week-trip to Hawaii"
Haha - I laughed.
The other card was:
"Happy Mother's day to my favorite mom....from your favorite kid. (Which one? What do you mean which one?!)"
I laughed a lot with that one too. lol

Miguel: "Don't blame me!"

Tulio: "I blame you!" (quote from El Dorado). Needless to say, my post is about blaming people.. And I blame lots of people lol! Not for my own problems mind you, but for other stuff. Here goes my list.

Kay for reading my copy of Jane Eyre so much that it fell apart and I had to get a new one!
(note, this isn't my copy)

Lys for making me fall in love with 40's music!

Jocee for making me want a cupcake everytime I read her blog.
I sware I gain 10 lbs on my hips each time I look at her blog.

Ara for making me wish I was a better writer!
 I guess I can't really fuss because she's a good writer though...
 It wouldn't be fair

Lauren for making me fall in love with blue all over again each time I look at her blog!

Bleah for introducing me to Adam Young
(aka Owl City)
(aka Sky Sailing)

Who do you blame?

Hail!

Today we had a really bad storm.
This is some of the larger pieces of hail (this pic was taken with my phone):

The pieces were bigger than golf balls and came down for at least 15 minutes maybe longer. I was in the barn when the storm hit and when the hail hit the tin roof it sounded like gun shots firing over and over again. Most of the horses were freaking out and one of the cats was clinging to me for dear life. lol -
It was a freaky storm. We saw the clouds forming a twister but it moved away (I was relieved). I
headed home at 10:30pm and there was so much fog and a lot of places were out of power so it was sooo dark. It was freaky!!
My car had about 4 inches of water in the front on the passenger side. I have no idea where the leak is
coming from, but it took 3 towels to get it to where it wasn't soaking. Ugh.

On to other news...
I hurt my foot somehow a few weeks ago - it would hurt when I walked, but the last few days has been horrible! I couldn't walk day before yesterday for a couple of hours. Now its all swollen and sore. Mom is gonna take me to get it looked at on Monday.

Last Tuesday Ri, Becky and Kay came down to see the new Jane Eyre movie. They picked me up and off we went. It was the first movie Riah and I have ever seen together in a theater. We made sure Becky realized that we thought it was wrong to be so deprived for almost 19 years! haha.
So we got into this small theater which is filled with old, white headed women and the previews started. They were all in foreign languages! When the previews stopped there were a couple of different screens that came on and so we talked fairly quietly before the movie. The screen when blank and this old woman, who was in the row in front of us said (quite rudely, I might add): "Would you please be quiet!"
Ri and I were trying not to laugh. The movie hadn't even started and we were being "SShhh-ed" - How rude!
haha - several times through the movie, if something was funny, I leaned over to Ri and said "I'm afraid to move - I don't want my head bitten off!"
Over all we had a great time!
More stories later!

What are best friends for?

So you know you and your best friend think the same when you both surprise each other with a random gift the same day. Weird, right?
Lys got me a beautiful blown glass, blue heart necklace. I love it!! It was sooooo sweet of her! I adore it, it's sooo me (pictures coming soon).
I got Lys a book (not the one I wanted to get her, or even my second choice, but it was a sad little book store and didn't have good ones). I am hoping to find the one I really wanted to get her sometime soon!

So, here is how the story went. We stopped by her house yesterday and I walked in and handed her a book I had borrowed and then told her I had something for her. She looked at me in surprise as I handed her the book and exclaimed that she had something for me too. We go upstairs to her room and she hands me a small gift bag. I open it up and inside is this small blue heart necklace... I was so surprised. She said she saw it at work and thought of me! How sweet!! Her gift to me was better than mine to her... I really hope to get her a better book soon (fingers crossed the one I got will be good). We both started laughing when we thought about how alike we must be to pick the same week (in a whole year of weeks) in which to give each other a random gift. Our brains must be in sync.

God made us best friends because he knew our mom's couldn't handle us as sisters!

Friends ask you why you're crying... best friends already have a shovel ready to bury the loser who made you cry.

A best friend is a sister destiny forgot to give you.

BEST FRIENDS
Understand when you say forget it,
Wait forever when you say just a minute,
Stay by your side when you say leave me alone,
and listen for hours when you're crying on the phone.
it's those times we go so crazy; people think we're high,
and the times we make each other laugh until we cry,
all the inside jokes and remember-whens
those are the reason they call us best friends!

Best friends means killing each other over a bag of chips and in the end not saying sorry but... "Haha, too bad Loser!"

Side by side or miles apart best friends, are forever close to your heart.

I don't know what tomorrow brings or even what I'm going to eat for breakfast. I couldn't tell you if I'll find my soul mate or even what outfit I'm going to wear tomorrow. I still can't figure out what my destiny is or even if I feel like doing my homework tonight. But, I do know this: I've got music in my car, a closet full of clothes and the best friend a girl could have... and baby, that's all I need.

A good friend knows all your best stories. A best friend has lived them with you.

Lyssa is the bestest friend ever. There are no words to explain how close we are and how much she means to me. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH MY LYSSA

Movie quotes from Lys and Ri

Here we are together me (Riah) and me (Lys)! Finally on our second (ever) sleep over. We don't want it to end - but it does tomorrow morning. **Sob**  It's just so sad that it has to end! But, we have had a great time. We even nearly teared up at a "girly" movie! How cliche is that?! We have stayed up until 2am every night watching movies and reading - more talking than reading though... go figure! Yeah we have actually fallen asleep talking every night, which includes not saying good night to each other and just falling asleep somewhere during a break in the conversation. Yeah... last time I slept over we said "good night" tooo much!! It was like we'd say good night and then find something new to talk about - repeat...repeat... Let me tell you, it's been something else. We put Lys to lots of work. At our house, cooking and cleaning and planning. Then... we put her to work at our church, cleaning up after communion and setting up for the potluck. Poor, poor Lyssa! I don't mind though! I actually enjoy helping out. :) We have so much fun cleaning together! Listening to music...fussin' at the little girls to stop playing wii and clean... Awww, how sweet is she. She is the bestest! So, right now to us two best friends are watching a movie about two best friends who go wrong and vowing to never ever act that way (it's Bride Wars). It's a great movie! Riah and I will NEVER act like these girls. If we did I'd have someone smack some sense into us! Yeah, I'd ask any of y'all to smack me. I can't imagine acting like that. Of course, neither of us fawn over weddings, so if we were to fight about something it wouldn't be that. Just watching this movie reminds me of why I never was a big wedding person. All the details... that's what my creative Lyssa is for. Right..? Right.. SAY RIGHT LYS! Right! I'm the brains in this process of planning. lol. I will not let Ri freak out at the details. Agree with me Ri? Ain't I right?! Yes, I'm begging you not to let me freak... I need you. Ok, we are way off topic here. We were planning on doing a movie quotes quiz, but we seemed to have drifted - as usual. Wow, this movie is, wow. Can you say "Bridzilla(s)"?! Sheesh. Ok now - movie quotes now. Try to guess what movie these are from. Ok, we are going to pick quotes now...

1. You have been weighed, you have been measured, and you have been found wanting. In what world could you possibly beat me?

2. [in a letter] I miss you like the sun misses the flower. Like the sun misses the flower in the depths of winter. Instead of beauty to direct its light to the heart hardens like the frozen world your absence has banished me to.

3. person 1: And one and two and three and four and your hands should be light like a birdie on a branch. And one and two and three and four and person 2 doesn't lead he follows like a girl.
person 1: And one and two and twirlie twirlie twirlie! And one and two and you're still getting it wrong! And one and two and three and four you can hit me all day cause you punch like a... what?
person 3: A girl!

4. I am an actress, Mr. -----, not a doormat. Do not attempt to wipe your boots on me.

5. The man of my dreams has almost faded now. The one I have created in my mind. The sort of man each woman dreams of, in the deepest and most secret reaches of her heart. I can almost see him now before me. What would I say to him if he were really here? "Forgive me. I have never known this feeling. I have lived without it all my life. Is it any wonder, then, I failed to recognise you? You, who brought it to me for the first time. Is there any way that I can tell you how my life has changed? Any way at all to let you know what sweetness you have given me? There is so much to say. I cannot find the words. Except for these: I love you". Such would I say to him if he were really here.

6. Do you actually believe that I have nurtured her, cared for her, molded, taught, developed her for all these years merely to groom a wife?! A star. Only someone with the limit awareness of your age could possibly conceive that my entire passion for this woman is no more than physical! Are you incapable of understanding that she has it within herself to be one of the greatest, if not the greatest actress of her generation?

7. They haven't spoken in a week. That's like a century in girl years.

8. If I were your wedding, I'd be sleeping with one eye open...

9. You do not alter a Vera to fit you, you alter yourself to fit Vera.

The rules are simple. You cannot look up the quotes. You can ask your family, you can watch a movie if you think the quotes are in it.  And I repeat, you CANNOT  look it up. Put what you think your answer is in a comment and we'll annouce who got the most right at a later time. It's gonna be fun! So please jump on in and see if you know the movies! We have three different movies quoted here. Have fun!

Things I blame Lyssa for!

I blame Lys for a lot of stuff, here is a list.

I blame Lyssa for:

Making me like Hillsong (Chapel, United, everything).

Introducing me to SoBe Lifewater, I love that drink.

Making me text her, so now I don't completely hate text (grrr, I lost something to rant about).

Giving me a Tamera Alexander book to read.

Taking me to Starbucks (ok, that was partially Bee's fault).

Loaning me a Ted Dekker book.

AND LAST, BUT NOT LEAST!

Introducing me to hot chocolate with hazelnut creamer - not fair!

So that is a list of stuff I blame her for, there is more... but I felt like keeping it shorter. Perhaps I'll do another of these one day (be prepared Lys).

Love,
Ariah

Me Being Me.

This is going to be random and pointless... but it is midnight and I have nothing major to say.
  1. Starbucks ice cream is the BEST ice cream ever created. It's smooth and creamy AND it has espresso in it. Can't get much better than that!
  2. SoBe Lifewater is really good.
  3. I hate it when people interrupt me when I'm talking. More specifically when I'm at work (we have to do "plus sales" where we HAVE TO tell each customer about a product on special) and I can't even say two words before people basically shout out "NO!" - some people are nice about it, but some are rude about it. On Saturday 3 people did that to me back-to-back. I was so irritated.
  4. The movie "You Again" was awesome. I laughed a lot.
  5. The book "Save The Date" by Jenny B. Jones is AWESOME!
  6. I saw my sister for the first time since Thursday just a couple of hours ago.
  7. I like Aerosmith - the classic rock band. Steven Tyler is the lead singer.
  8. I hope and pray that Claritin allergy medicine will work for me this weekend at Ri's...never used it before.
  9. My room is a mess.
  10. My boss only gave me 16 hours of work this week. :(
  11. Hillsong United: Aftermath is an amazing CD!!!
  12. I was only going to have 10 points.
  13. I now have 13.
  14. The end (13. make that 14.)

24 - loving movies

This post is supposed to be about a movie no one would expect me to love, well I'm just going to pick a scene in a movie that no one expected me to love.

I assume most of you have seen or at least heard of Enchanted, right? Well, in case you haven't, it's about a cartoon disney soon-to-be princess who manages to tick off her future step-mother-in-law (does that make sense? basically it's her prince charming's step-mother and she will soon be the the girl's mother-in-law) and this step-mother-in-law is evil - shocker. So, she enchants a wishing well and lures the soon-to-be princess over, then pushes her down it and sends her to a place that has no love - aka: New York. When the "princess" gets there she has serious trouble and is taken in by a well meaning, but skeptical man and his princess-loving daughter. Through lots of trouble and trial they end up falling in love. But there is a problem, the man is in a relationship and Prince Charming just showed up. Now, the princess has to go back, but she doesn't want to, not really, not anymore. She convinces him to go to a ball with her in New York, then she'll go home. But while at the ball the evil step-mother shows up and poisons the princess and Prince Charming's "true love's kiss" isn't working, so the New Yorker kisses her and she is fine again. The evil step-mother attacks and good triumphs over evil in the end. The woman the New Yorker was with ran off with the prince back to "perfect-happily-ever-after-land" and the princess stays with the New Yorker and his daughter.
Yeah, how's that for a synopsis?

So now I bet you are wondering which is my favorite scene... The ball scene. Yes you heard me right and yes, that was my favorite before I started courting Superman and went, supposedly, "soft".
I love this scene! He told her he didn't dance, and then he danced with her. He told her he didn't sing and then he sang quitely in her ear as they danced... **sigh**

Don't they just look like they're in love?! (They are good actors, no?)
I like the song played too.
"So close to reaching that famous happy end, almost believing this one's not pretend..."

Yeah that's my favorite scene. It's sappy huh? Especially since I am supposedly a professed sappy romance hater... We we're sitting in the theater watching and when he started to sing to her I said "awww", Kay about had a heart attack. "Did you just say 'awww' to a romantic scene?!"  She was sure I had lost it!

Onto others news. My and Superman's engagement dinner is on the 5th of March!

No, it wont look like that... I just thought it was pretty.
It's not going to be fancy, but I'm excited anyway!

His parents are going to be there, and his sister and maybe his Aunt and Uncle and friend (actually, he's my friend too. We all went to church together and I've known him longer than I've known Superman, but Superman is the one who keeps in touch with him).
My parents will be there (duh, since its at our house), my grandparents, my uncles and Lyssa (who demanded to be invited, lol. I don't mind, I love her too much to care. I want her there anyway).

And other news... Lys will be spending the night Friday the 4th through Monday the 7th. She is helping us prepare for the dinner, like the bestest best friend she is, and is just taking the time to hang out! We are going to have loads of fun! Movies, popcorn, picture taking, hanging out... Oh and...

PILLOW FIGHTS
yeah, fun!
I know

Your excited,
Riah

A talent, several birthdays and a daybook

Hey there! Riah here, although I'm starting think y'all already know that, seeing as how the post itself states that and I always have my name at the end of the post.. Ok, anyway...

So a talent hum? I'm not sure I was born with a talent, I just pick up on stuff along the way... I know, pretty sad huh? On the upside, I'm a quick learner, so not being born with a talent hasn't seemed to hurt me much. Oh the land of the un-talented... :D

Onto several birthdays.
Beenie's was the tenth and she turned 12! Happy birthday girly! Seems like you are still 10 sometimes, not sure why my head is stuck on that age... Hope you got the polk-a-dot stuff your little heart wanted. (btw: she loves polk-a-dots!)
Dad's was Wednesday. He and mom went out for dinner, came home and brought us some donuts, yummy (or as T. Lynn would say "nummy"), then they went back out to get them some dessert.
Kay's birthday is today! She is 21 now... My, how time does fly! Wasn't she just toturing me yesterday? Wasn't she and my cousin locking me in a closet only a week ago (btw: my cousin and kay are the same age, only 5 days apart)? Both girls were evil I tell you ;) Mom's cousin had to let me out. I think I'm still scarred from that! Happy birthday Kay! Hope it turns out great!

Ok, daybook time!

This daybook is hosted by Jo March@Scraps from my Workbasket

Date... February 19th 2011

Starting time... 8:30 am

Mood... really, really happy!

Outside my window... Sun is bright and it looks warm (I had to run and check, I don't actually have the blinds open). Everything is calm and quiet and I think Feb. is trying its best to make us like it by pretending to be spring. The weather has been so nice lately.

I'm thinking... That I need a cup of tea. I think it would make this morning just right. Plus, I'm a tad hungry

I'm currently reading... "Waterfall" by Lisa T. Bergren

I'm listening to... The airconditioner run, the cat meow her head off and the static over the moniter we have in Grandma's room.

I'm wearing... A tan skirt with teeny blue flowers, two tanktops layered (the first one is white ribbed with lace, the top one is blue to match the skirt), a knit sweater, and a necklace Superman gave me.

I'm looking forward to... Going to church Sunday. I haven't been in three weeks, I miss going.

I'm hoping... That Lys doesn't torment me about wedding dresses now.. She's been on a kick recently!

Yesterday, I... Went out to eat with my family for an early birthday lunch for Kay since we wouldn't all be able to go out today.

I'm hungry for... Tea and maybe some of Bree's awesome biscuts. Let me tell you, that girl can make kickin' biscuts!

The song stuck inside my head is... "You Make Me Feel Like A Star" by the Beu Sisters (don't ask me why, I think it's because the girls keep playing it over and over again).

I love... the book I'm reading. It's so great!

I loathe... it when people don't know how to merge properly onto a highway! It's really quite annoying.

This week, my goal is... to finish a cross stitch I'm doing for a couple I know who are having their first baby. I'm cross stitching little ducks on a baby bib.

Did I meet last week's goal?... Um, I don't remember setting one.

Ending time... 8:45am

Ok, so thats all!

In Christ,
Riah

Thank you!

“A friend is the one who comes in when the whole world has gone out.” ~ Grace Pulpit

I can’t think of a more appropriate quote for me and Lys. Our new-ish, closer relationship is based off of circumstances that mirror this quote exactly. All of our friends had deserted us and that’s when we became so much closer. It’s a long and involved story so I’m not going to bother telling you all about it right now, but you have to hear this part to understand what we are to each other.
We both grew apart due to circumstances, many (not all) beyond our control. We didn’t talk much at all, nor did we see each other often. In fact, I think sometimes we forgot the other existed. Sure, if you asked we could tell you we were friends, but we didn’t really know all that much about each other. We both had some church problems when we were 14 and we both left our churches in June/July of that year (or somewhere around that time). The problems were of such a nature that we were “shunned” from the friends we had and were not allowed to talk to them (not our parents decision, that was their parents).
One day I was feeling kind of lonely. I had tried to call a friend, but her mother wouldn’t let me talk to her and informed Mom that they could have nothing more to do with us. I went outside to read, but couldn’t focus (I can hear some of you gasping in utter disbelief now). Out of the blue, Mom poked her head out the back door and said I had a phone call. I bet you can imagine how thrilled I was. I thought that my friend’s mother had a change of heart. Guess how shocked I was to find out it was Lys? It was so weird. But I was just happy to have someone to talk to. We didn’t talk all that much during that call, but then she called back the next day and I called her the day after that. Eventually we ended up telling each other what had gone down at our churches, just to find that nearly the same thing had happened to both of us. We ended up crying together, comforting each other and laughing over how silly we were being; crying over people who had left us when things came to a head.

Needless to say, my thank you letter is to you Lys. Thanks for making that first call! cartoon-phone-pictureEven though it meant that we talked so much it drove my parents crazy. Thanks for letting me call you at nearly midnight so I could tell you that Superman wanted to court me!
cartoon002   (Lys looks better than this believe me!)

Thank you for letting me call you crying! For helping me when Grandpa died. Thank you for letting me vent when I’m angry! untitledThank you for yelling at computers with me…hate love
(we have the exact same kind of laptop)

Thank you for being the only person who’ll IM me, talk on the phone with me AND email me all at the same time.
mutitasking
And that’s a lot!

And thank you for being the bestest friend ever!

(I get to be Tigger in this picture… oh quit giving me that sad face Lys… ok fine, you can be Tigger!)

“These are a few of my favorite things”

So day seven is five things we can’t live without. Now, I could go all scientific and say “heart, brain, liver, lungs and oxygen” but that wouldn’t be much fun, plus if wouldn’t give you any insight into what makes me tick (except my heart, of course). It would tell you nothing about me, beside the fact that I am obviously human, which I’m pretty sure you’ve discovered on your  own. So I’ll chose five things, which I probably could live without, but don’t really want to.

1. babies!

I firmly believe that babies are just the best things ever!

I would just dry up and wither away without babies! I know I would! I just know it!

2. Chocolate!!! This is a major!chocolate
I love chocolate… Any chocolate. The best is Godiva though. It’s pretty expensive, but its sooo good. I think I’ll die and go to heaven now, just the thought of eating all that chocolatey goodness! Oh…. **shivers**
3. Books and coffee. This counts as one, you cannot have one without the other… its like salt and pepper, cookies and milk, and Romeo and Juliet. They just aren’t themselves without the other, so this most certainly counts as one. books and coffee
I will only say that if you can’t have coffee with your book, you can have hot chocolate or hot tea instead, or in the summer a glass of ice tea or lemonade. These are your only alternatives. Do not mix with soda! That messes with the whole order of things and simply will not be tolerated. EVER!
coffee
If coffee and books didn’t go together, would they put Starbucks in book stores? Hum, can you argue that one? Didn’t think so!

4. Chapstick, I think my lips would fall off my face without it.
chapstickAnd it would kind of stink if my lips fall off my face, so I’ll continue to use it. I try to use it as much at possible. I seem to have one issue though. My lips build up an immunity to chapstick. Is that even scientifically possible? I wear it for awhile and it works, then suddenly I have cracked and bleeding lips again. Is that right? Even though I put it on religiously? I don’t think so.

5. M.A. Lemonade!!!!! No, this isn’t a brand of lemonade. It stands for:
m

Me (not me as in “me” but as in, the first letter in my name is M)

And it stands for:

a

Alyssa!!! Lys came up with it when we were about 6 or 7. Her family had met us at a museum near where we lived and we spent the day at the museum and library. Before we left, Lys hugged me and said “Oh, by the way we’re “M.A. Lemonade”, if that’s ok with you".  Somehow it stuck, even though that was the last time we saw each other for a while (I think). See her family had moved “far away” and being very young children we didn’t think to write. We saw each other a sprinkling of times over the years and kinda fell out of contact with each other, except the occasional email. The whole story of how we came to being so very close again is for another post. We were 14 when we really started talking to each other and 15 (correct me if I’m wrong Lys) when we saw each other again for the first time in 3-4 years (again, correct me). We were thrilled to death and have about a million pictures of that trip! (Man, we looked so young Lys! and you’re hair was long!)
So that’s the last, but not the least, thing on my list. Hope you had fun crawling into my head for a bit. I think whoever came up with these questions must have been a curious and pushy person. Curious because they ask so many questions, pushy because they demand you pick favorites!

Love always,
The M     in M.A. Lemonade!
