Just a look!

So when I was 18 I wrote this post >>>  It was a peek into my makeup box. Well I'm gonna do something similar again. Go over my favorite makeup, body products and looks. Fashion and so on.

Amazing tummy lotion by Mama Mio! I'm in love with this stuff. But it's pretty expensive. I also love thier Boob Tube and Lucky Legs lotions. I know they sound odd, but they are amazing!

Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick in Frosted

I fianlly got up the courage to dye my hair - subtle red peek-a-boos. Yeah they are subtle alright, you can't really see them :) Oh well maybe next time (not a picture of me btw).

I love the look of coats like these

Much more likely to be caught wearing on of these!

I pretty much wear my eye makeup like this. Minus the heavy black under the eyes and the dark shadowing above. Too much work :) Just the peach and white part.

I still use the color stay mineral powder. In fact, I think I may still have the same container of it I had two years ago!

I'm still using the same type of concealer as well. They still make it and I see no reason to go hunt down another concealer that works well and make it match my skin. I'm happy with what I have.
I have changed my mascara, eyeliner and foundation, along with eyeshadow. The fondation I use is the dream nude airfoam foundation by maybelline, although I'm thinking of changing when I run out. I love the look it gives, so soft and airy, but I'm not a fan of how hard it can be to blend it. I would love to have one that is more easily blended since my bathroom lighting is not the best and I can't always see very well. The mascara changes practically everytime I buy it. Mostly because I have never found one I just love and because I just usually buy whatever is on sale. My eye shadow changed because I got kinda lazy about it and it's easier to go with simple peach and white then to worry about shadowing and highlighting everything. And as for eyeliner, I wear liquid black liner on top and a brown pencil liner on the bottom. Black is too harsh for me all over.

Sneak peak!

Hey Y'all!
Every year there is a sunflower field that blooms for two weeks that my boss has the rights to shoot on. So for the last 2 weeks we have been out there morning and night (hot or hotter) taking family portraits, senior pictures, engagements...ect.... It's so much work but sooo much fun! it's not glamorous... it's really muddy, sticky, sweaty, hot, and there is lots of pollen, but it's so worth it! 10,000 tall sunflowers stand together in beautiful formation that you can't take your eyes off of. Amazing.
Since I'm the second shooter for my boss, I get the opportunity to shoot one session for any of my friends or family in the field. Riah and her new husband drove the 2 hours down to get their pictures done last Sunday. Riah was is heaven! She had sunflowers at her wedding so we thought this would be perfect for them :)
Here is a sneak peek at what we did :) (I have Riah's permission to post these) (and please click the images - blogger makes them look all weird!) Enjoy!!

And an extra cuz I likes it :)

In which I ramble

So I am weird and the things I love completely prove that... Let me go over a list!

I couldn't find a picture with just the mild jalapeno ones. But those are the ones I love. I never tried the other two, but I am seriously addicted to the mild jalapeno chedder ones! I'm drooling now!

Purple nail polish. I love blue for toes, but for finger nails purple all the way. Right now I'm wearing purple. It graduates from darker purple at the tips to lighter purple at the buttom (none of it is particularly light though). I am loving the purple :D

Color palettes! Don't know why, it's probably the blog-designing-soon-to-be-house-wife nerd in me, but I can't help it and I don't plan on stopping soon.

Paper lanterns! I am in love and obsessed. I have some hanging in my room now! Of course I also have two bows, many many arrows, a fishing pole, pratically a whole art studio, camera stuff and stacks and stacks of books in my room, so adding paper lanterns isn't odd at all... No, not at all.

Disney movies, particulary Tangled and Sleeping Beauty.

Love tv shows like Bones, NCIS, Numbers and Criminal Minds.

Ruffles - ok, yes I can be girly and yes it just killed me to admit on our blog to 30 readers that I like pink (or teal or blue) ruffles, but I do... So I figure being honest is best.

Lighting, light flares, slight over-exposure (when properly used), spherical abberation (aka bokeh), octogonal abberation (still bokeh) and such like. I adore them and feel a flutter in my stomach when I see it. One of the many reasons I love the new Star Trek movie. It's full of those and I am in lighting imperfection heaven.

Books - I love them, adore them, pour over them!!

That's it!

A peek at...

Something mildly funny.. now that is.

So today T. Lynn and I went to get our ears pierced together. I have my first piercing, but I decided to get second ones right above the first. T. Lynn was super nervous, and I gotta admit that I wasn't a cool cucumber myself. I went first (per T.'s request), selected my earrings and then looked at the marks she placed on my ear for the placement. T. held my hand... as we agreed. I'd hold her hand and she'd hold mine.  So the lady puts in the first earring and it looks good. Puts in the second and it's wayyyy too low. So I'm looking at it and we decide something has to be done. The lady goes in the back to see if they had another one of the earrings I wanted. Sadly they didn't, so what we had to do was take out the too low earring and re-pierce it with a different earring then take the different earring out and put the one I wanted in the new hole. It was pretty painful, especially since they had a hard time putting the back on.
Now I have a third hole in my left ear. Thankfully it's all closed over now and I just have a little red pin-prick... a painful one, but still little :)

Much love,

A peek at...

Me! I know, not very exciting... You are all about to give up at this "peek into" thing right? I'm not showing you whats in my closet or jewelry box like you expected... I was going to do "A peek at my bedroom" and let y'all see what it looks like, but the only pictures I have of my room was before it was re-done. I'll go into that in the post that actually shows my room. (BTW: Lyssa posted, so strike over!)

So, about me! I'm 18 (19 this year), have blue or green eyes (depending on the day), brown hair and am 5' 4" (which in my family is basically midget - no offense intended to midgets!). I have four siblings, all girls, one older and three younger. I go by Ri more than anything else, but am also called Riah or Riah Friah Me O Miah. I have many more nicknames, but I don't feel like going into all of them. I am daughter to Ed and Becky and Superman's fiancee (awesome, right?). I like Hillsong, Tenth Avenue North, Owl City, Sanctus Real, The Afters, Robert Pierre, Colbie Caillat and so many more. Here are a few of my favorite things:

I like sunshine and bright happy things!

Rain and wet reflections

This very sappy movie...

... and this action-packed movie.

I love Once Upon a Times...

...but have a hard time believing in Happily Ever After's

I love Christian Louboutin shoes and this pair are my favorite!

I think this is a cute shirt,

And I like, love, adore letters... I never get letters... sob :(

Well, I'll have to have a "peek into me part two" I think... this post is long enough!

Love,

A peek into my...

... computer! Yes, computer. I know y'all are all thinking "I seriously don't want to see hard drives and a bunch of wires" but I'm sure you all know I just mean the programs that I have or pictures or whatever. (oh, and I'm going on strike - I'll tell y'all why later.)

So, lets just say you hacked into my computer. I'm not saying you did, just saying if... gosh y'all, don't fuss so much, I know you wouldn't actually do that. Goodness, it was just a for-instance... you people are so defensive.
Anyway....
If someone else hacked in.... not you... someone else... they would see:

Pictures of australia. Not ones I've taken sadly, ones I found online.

This one is my computer wallpaper. Sigh, Aussie!

You would find gimp. Both my friend and my enemy... depending on the day.

You would find endless blog designing stuff... online scrapbook elements, palettes, headers, buttons... so on.

This is a design I did for Lys that never got used... It was morphed into the current design...

New button for Something Beautiful, to go with the design I'm working on.

You would fine tons of pictures, both edited and unedited.

note: not my house...  its a house in our neighborhood.
This picture is dedicated to Jocee... the biggest Narnia fan ever. She happens to be the biggest cupcake fan too!

i tunes!

And sooooo much more!

Ok, I'm sure y'all want to know why I'm going on strike... and I'm sure you are wondering what I could possibly strike from, I don't work. Well, I'm striking from blogger! Now, I'm not asking you to quit blogging, I'm asking you help me convince Lys to post again... she's been shirking her responsibility. I am saying now that I wont blog again until after she does. So there Lys! Ha!

A sneak peek...

I thought I'd do a "series" sort of thing. A series of posts called "A peek into my..." and picking a subject. Like "A peek into my closet" or "A peek into my hope chest" and so on. What do you think?
I believe I'll start with "A peek into my make-up box". Just a note, this idea was very random and I haven't taken any pictures so I'll have to look up pictures, sorry. Next time I'll take my own photos.

Ok, all of the make up products below are my current favorites and are sure to change when they discontinue what I'm using (they've done that to me twice already) or the store is out of what I usually wear and I'm forced to find something else.

One of my favorites is: Cover Girl Invisible Concealer.
I only put it on the worst acne spots. It's not too heavy and doesn't show through my foundation, which is awesome! I also put it beneath my eyes when my dark circles are really bad that day and it doesn't look discolored. I do warn you, get it a shade lighter than your skin shade, because it can be a bit dark.

Maybelline Mineral Power: Powder Foundation
I love this. You do have to be careful putting it on, because it can go on heavy. I have perfected it though, so it's no problem for me.
Merle Norman eyeshadow

My favorite eyeshadow ever! It doesn't go on too heavy and they have beautiful shades. My favorite is currently Mink, but I have Champagne and Sugar Plum too. I wish I had more, but I have just the three (they are really expensive - at least for my wallet). I think next time I buy some I'll get Ice and Cocoa.

Almay Intense i-color eyeliner
I have both Topaz and Raisin Quartz because my eyes can look either blue or green, depending on how they feel that day. I like to be prepared. Interesting bit of trivia - Lys wears the same eyeliner (Raisin Quartz, because of her beautiful green eyes).
Maybelline Pulse Perfection Mascara
Ok, so when I first got this I was just looking for good mascara. I used to use a different kind that was discontinued and I had been looking for a replacement ever since. I randomly picked this one (after having been seriously tick at my previous masacra) and bought it. I tried it on the next day for church and realized it vibrated (can you tell I didn't pay much attention?). I love this stuff. At first I was afraid the vibrating would make the mascara go everywhere, but after holding the brush down over the sink and pressing the button for awhile and nothing sprayed everywhere, I was fairly confident that it wouldnt get all over me! This is the best mascara, I really hope that they don't discontinue it. One thing though - I may try Lyssa's mascara one time, her's looks awesome.

Revlon Colorstay Mineral Finishing Powder: Brighten
I had some great Blush that Bee (Lyssa's sis Bee, not to be confused with my sis Bree) gave me, but I ran out and had to go to the store for more (the kind Bee used was ordered online and a bit expensive). I looked all over for some similar and couldn't find any blush like it, but this Finishing Powder was close. Instead of just putting it on my cheeks though, I put a light dusting all over my face. I may try the bronze-ish one in the summer when I have a tan, but this works fine for now.

Hope you like this peek!
